Why Do Dogs Like Peanut Butter?
If you’ve ever fed a dog a small spoonful of peanut butter, you know they go crazy for this delicious snack. That’s because the roasting process transforms the proteins and fats that nuts contain to smell a lot like meat. Essentially, dogs instinctively seek out foods that are rich in nutrients, and peanut butter is one of these foods.
Just from a quick whiff, dogs know that peanut butter is full of good fats.

Can Your Dog Eat Peanut Butter?
Yes, your dog can have a little peanut butter - as a treat! You might have read about the risks of too much peanut butter for dogs, but it’s important to know that many of these are associated with a sweetener called xylitol. This ingredient can negatively impact liver cells and lower blood sugar in dogs, which is why xylitol is NOT an ingredient in our peanut butter CBD dog treats.
Instead, our Calming Crunchies are made with natural peanut butter and other wholesome, organic ingredients, like rolled oats, coconut oil, rye flour, rosemary extract, and CBD isolate.

How Much Peanut Butter Can Dogs Eat?
Peanut butter is considered a treat, and treats should make up about 10% of a dog’s total caloric intake. If you’re giving a dog peanut butter by itself, small dogs should have no more than ½ tablespoon and larger dogs should have no more than a full tablespoon. When it comes to our peanut butter CBD treats, we recommend to start with following serving sizes and scale up as needed.
2.5mg (1/2 treat) per serving for a 20-30lb dog.
5mg (1 treat) per serving for a 50-60lb dog.
10mg (2 treats) per serving for 100lb+ dog.
