We are kicking off 2020 with something new! Every month, we are bringing you candid interviews with REAL Dope Dogs (and their people of course!) Starting things off with one of the most energetic and excited Dope Dogs we know: Baxter, the Golden Doodle!
Baxter ran circles around us (literally) during an interview with his person, Erica. Both born and raised in Los Angeles, Erica and Baxter have been Dope Dogs since the beginning. Baxter brings a special kind of energy. She soon realized that Baxter was his own special breed, and now we just know it as the "the Baxter effect". Luckily, a little bit of Dope Dog and a lot of walks around the Silverlake Reservoir keep this cutie entertained.
Here's our chat with Erica:
DD: Who is your Dope Dog?
Erica: Baxter, male, we think he's a Whoodle (Soft Coated Wheaten/poodle mix) AKA a fluff ball of energy!
DD: When did you decide you needed a dog?
Erica: I grew up with a dog and have always had a dog throughout my life. Once my husband and I were able to move into our own home, it was only a matter of months before Baxter joined our family.
DD: Do you or Baxter get spoiled more?
Erica: Definitely Baxter! He just has to look at us with his puppy dog eyes and he'll get any treat he wants.
DD: What does he use CBD for?
Erica: I have been giving Baxter both the Dope Dog treats and oil dropper for several months to help with his rambunctious, over the top energy levels. He gets about one or two treats a day with some peanut butter in his kong. When we have guests over, I will give him the oil as it seems to be more concentrated and works very well and quickly. He loves the treats! But what dog wouldn't ?
DD: Have you seen improvement?
Erica: Yes! Definitely with the dropper he is able to curb his doodle energy.
DD: What is your favorite Dope Dog product?
Erica: In addition to the Dope Dog treat lineup, I love the soothing suds shampoo! Not only does it smell amazing, but it keeps Baxter's fur super soft and he also appears to scratch less after giving him a bath.
DD: What makes Baxter a Dope Dog?
Erica: I mean just look at him! He makes every day better...who doesn't want a 28 pound of fluff greeting them like he's never seen you before every day!
