Summer is finally here, and you know what that means…beach day every day! Or at least one can dream. Beach days are even better when you can bring your dogs along. Check out our list of 5 dog-friendly beaches in Los Angeles and Orange County. Before you hit the road, make sure to grab the leash! All the beaches listed below, except for Rosie’s Dog Beach, always require dogs to be leashed. Now, go get your tan on!

1. Huntington Dog Beach
Huntington Dog Beach is the only major dog-friendly beach in Orange County. The beach is located along the Pacific Coast Highway and is open from 5 am-10pm 7 days a week. There are plenty of restrooms, picnic tables, and doggy waste bags available to the public. Huntington Dog Beach is famous for its annual Corgi Beach Day, a fun-filled event where corgi lovers come together to enjoy a day in the sun and fawn over those adorable Corgi butts! 2. Leo Carrillo State Beach
Take a scenic drive down PCH and discover the beautiful reefs and instagram-worthy coastal caves of Leo Carrillo. This beautiful spot in Malibu has 1.5 miles of beach for you and your pups to enjoy! Leo Carrillo State Park also has hiking trails and camp grounds.
3. Sycamore Cove Beach
Located in Point Mugu State Park in Oxnard, California, Sycamore Cove is a great place to take your pets on a summer day. Sycamore Cove Beach is best known for the adjacent campgrounds and hiking trails. After you’ve had enough splashing and tanning, take your furry friend on an afternoon hike along Sycamore Canyon Road.
4. Rosie's Dog Beach
This large 4-acre beach located in Long Beach, California is a leash-free zone. Your high-energy dogs can run free and are guaranteed to meet some new beach buddies to play with! The doggy zone is open every day from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
5. Staircase Beach
Staircase Beach is a small, hidden spot in Leo Carrillo state Park. This is a narrow, rocky beach that attract a surfer crowd. Despite its name, there are no stairs at this beach, which is good news for doxies and other short-legged pups!
