The 4th of July is a fun holiday for us humans, but for dogs, it means loud fireworks, weird (and tempting) smells, and an above average amount of commotion around the neighborhood. You might not think twice about it, but even if you don't have a normally anxious dog, it's a good idea to take a few extra precautions on the holiday to keep your dog calm, cool, and collected.
Where will your dog be at the firework shows? It is ideal to create a location where the commotion is minimal. Make sure someone is home keep an eye on your dog, as running away and hiding is common.
