Leading the Pack in Oakland: Meet our favorite anti-pumpkin spice Bay Area boutique!

By Erin Mastopietro on Oct 20, 2018

We're kind of obsessed with this Bay Area gem that prefers apple spice to pumpkin spice, is 100% anti cheesy Christmas music, and deemed a toddler as their "customer experience manager". We are thrilled to be featuring them this week in our retail spotlight post. "We don't participate in Pumpkin Spice, but we do have an apple spray that is quite nice in the fall. We also don't play Christmas music in the store. :)"

Attention LA locals - your pets should be shopping HERE!
Attention LA locals - your pets should be shopping HERE!

By Erin Mastopietro on Sep 29, 2018

"Before moving to LA, I would always hear things like “living in a big city, you never get to know anyone” or “it’s so hard to make friends in the city”. But boy oh boy, does Downtown LA prove those theories wrong. There is such a powerful sense ofcommunity here and it is beautiful. All of my customers are genuine, kind, and 110% badass. My customers are also very diverse because we are located in the middle of THE melting pot, which creates a very unique and open atmosphere at Pet Project LA. There is truly a sense of connectedness between each other even if you have never officially met someone and only seen him/her in passing. Everyone ALWAYS has each other’s back and is offering to help one another out. It’s amazing."

CBD Success Story: Joint Pain
CBD Success Story: Joint Pain

By Erin Mastopietro on Sep 26, 2018

"Anyone else use CBD oil for their pup? Chevy uses it daily to manage her back/hip pain. It works wonders! It’s literally the difference between her being able to sit down in a timely manner vs having to spin 5 times, adjust her legs, spin 2 more times, and then slowly move her butt towards the ground in a half sit position. She used to be on pain Meds that were messing up her insides... so we took her off the Meds and out of pure desperation to find something that would work without nasty side effects... we gave CBD oil a try.

Back to School: A CBD Success Story

I did a bunch of research and came across Dope Dog treats and decided to give the treats and oil a try. Not only did I notice a difference in her barking, but my neighbors did too! I love being able to provide a natural anxiety aid for her barking and feel good about what’s going into her body! Plus, she loves the taste of the Pb crunchies, salmon oil and the unflavored oil! Thank you so much Dope Dog!"

A CBD Success Story: Epilepsy
A CBD Success Story: Epilepsy

By Erin Mastopietro on Sep 18, 2018

"We specifically chose our little guy, Mr. Bandit a boy, because he is a bull terrier(ish) and bull terriers can be prone to epilepsy. We hoped he wouldn’t have epilepsy, but my husband has epilepsy so I thought they would be a good match and give each other comfort in their possibly mutual condition. Right away we realized Bandit had seizures, usually when he is sleeping or relaxing
